Mera Peak

Mera Peak

Mera (6,654 m) is the highest among the trekking peaks that are permitted by Government for climbing. Mera peak lies to the south of Mt. Everest. Climbing this peak does not require much climbing experience and technical expertise as the peak is not so difficult and can be ascended without hitch. However, the accumulation of heavy snow and the maze of the crevasses can make this trip quite longer to reach the summit.  The northern face to the peak has got a gradual slope with somehow longer route offering the outstanding mountain panorama of the eastern Nepal Himalayas. The panoramic scene of Mt. Everest (8848m), Cho oyu(8201m) Lhotse (8463m), Makalu (7319m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), Nuptse, Chamlang (7319m) are some of the real highlights of this trek.
