Boudhanath Stupa

Bouddhanath Stupa or ( Bodnath Stupa) is the largest stupa in Nepal and the holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet, lies about 7 km east of the capital. It is the center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu and rich in Buddhist symbolism. After 1959, many Tibetans arrived and settled in Bouddhanath area. The stupa, a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site, is included in World Heritage Cultural site list by UNESCO.

Pashupatinath Temple

Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in the eastern part of Kathmandu. Pashupatinath Temple's existence dates back to 400 A.D. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga or phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world come to pay homage to this temple that is also known as 'The Temple of Living Beings'. The bank of Bagmati River is the cremation centre of Hindu dead body. Where you can see the cremation process of hindu people. Beside this you can see the color full sadhu ‘the holy devotee of Lord Shiva’ around the periphery of temple. The temple is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.

Swayambhunath

The Buddhist temple of Swayambhunath is one of the most oldest Shrine in Nepal, situated on the top of a hill, west of Kathmandu, is one of the most popular, holy and instantly recognizable symbols of Nepal. The monument is believed to be self created and the history of the monument backs to the 5th Century. It is also known as the 'monkey temple' because of the large tribe of roving monkeys who guard the temple. Swayambhunath complex is comprised of several other temples and shrine some dating back to the Licchavi period and museum, library and Tibetran monastery are recently added.
