Gaden to Samye trek lets you to experience the real taste of Tibetan highland adventure and an insight into Tibetan Buddhism. During the trip, the ancient monasteries enchant all its visitors interspersed for the excursions. The trail connects isolated colorful villages of Tibetan civilization which are found dancing with prayer flags, dwelled by magnificent monasteries and the rugged Tibetan terrain resembling a lunar surface.

 

Himalayan Hub has designed Gaden-Samye trek to connect two major monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism – Ganden and Samye. Ganden, the first Monastery of Gelugpa sect is 45 km away to the east of Lhasa. It was built by Tsongkhapa. The monastery is renowned being one of the vital and biggest Gelugpa monasteries in Tibet.

 

The Samye monastery was founded by Trisong Detsen in 779 AD by Trisong Detsen. It has a tremendous a collection of pagodas and temples. The monastery is reached after crossing the Tsangpo River.
