Kwangde Peak

Kwandge Peak is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal which lies in the Khumbu region with impressive views of Mt. Everest and other fabulous Himalayas. It is also called Kangde di Peak and it is one of the adventurous peaks to climb on with its 6,011m height.  This Peak can be inclined from both of its north and the south summit.  In the north summit of this peak lays Kwandge Nup, which is climbed from the base camp in the Lumding Himal. Lumding Himal is regarded as a part of Rolwaling Himal, situated above the Bhote Koshi River and ranges to the south west of Namche Bazzar. This Himal makes the trekking very tremendous with the fantastic vantage point in a way. But its southern side is very remote and unapproachable.  It is hidden at the northern end of the Lumding Drangka, a remote valley with the beautiful scenery of landscapes and glaciers of Karyolung(6,511m/21,361ft), Khartang (6,853m/22,484ft)  and Numbur(6,959m/22,831ft). The panorama of Summit extends from the Ama Dablam and Makalu in the East, to the Everest to Cho Oyu along with the spectacular Rolwaling Peak, to the North Kwandge Ri across Khumbu. Despite the beautiful scenery and wonderful landscapes, Kwandge peaks are very difficult type of peak to climb on. This peak has not been commercialized as trekking expedition due to its audacity. Both the North and the South route of this peak are committing and risky thus, climbers must have high degree of commitment along with the technical knowledge. The successful first incline was done by Nepalese expedition in 1975 by Kumar Khagdar and Bikram Shah. However, the actual summit was only reached by Lhakpa Tenjing , Sonam Hisi and Shambhu Tamang via the South fold. Thus, those climbers who have knowledge on climbing and are really seeking for the challenging small peak in the Himalayas, this Peak offer very unique experiences and will find this peak attractive.
