Langtang Valley Trekking
Lantang is a glacier valley situated within Langtang National Park. It lies at the northern part of Kathmandu, runs from Syabru to Kyanjingumba, and borders with southern Tibet. Langtang valley trek is one of the traditional trekking trails of Nepal after Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha) and Annapurna Region.
Tamang (Hyalmo) is the dominating ethnic community of the valley. People follow two types of religion in combined form i.e. Bon and pre- Buddhist of Tibet. Syabrubesi, Thulosyabru, Langtang and Kyangin are the old settlement of the region.
The major attractions of the trek are wide varieties of flora like deciduous Oak and Maple, evergreen Pines and several species of Rhododendron, wild animals like musk deer (moschus chray sogaster), Himalayan Tahr (hermitregus jemlahicus), Himalayan blackbeer (selenarctos thibetanus), Snow leopard (panthera unica), Wild dog (cuenalpinus), ghoral (nemorhedus goral) and more than 250 species of birds. This Park is even popular for Red Pandas.
This trek offers you the amazing mountain views of Some of the major peaks of Langtang region like Langtang Lirung (7246m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Morimoto (6750m), Dragmarpo Ri (6578m), Kimshung(6500m), langshisa Ri(6427m), Ganchempo (6387m), Nava Kanya (5846m), Yala peak (5520m), Surya peak(5144m) and Tsergo Ri(5000m)
